Seasons

This is going to be rather vague.

A person that has had a major impact in the last year of my life is no longer able to continue said relationship. Is that vague enough?

I've been feeling a lot of things about seasons in relationships. People come in and out of your life and sometimes you know how long they will be there. Other times they are taken too quickly. I've never been one of those people that believes everything happens for a reason. I just don't think things are planned out that meticulously. But I do believe in people happening for a reason, people that are meant for each other.  I'm talking more than just romantic love. I mean all the deep, important relationships we cultivate throughout our entire life. Some of them are short lived and some of them are lifelong, but each very important.

I guess I am in a season of learning to accept when one of those vital relationships ends before anticipated. Understanding it didn't end before absolutely necessary. Learning to gracefully say goodbye and appreciate the time I was given. Although it doesn't make it any less disappointing.

  1. This is actually the story of my life and I don't understand it. It kinda drives me crazy but...I'm working on letting go of expectations.

  2. It's the act of growing and pruning. Sometimes people outgrow each other. It happens, and it sucks.
